Bank of Georgia Installments — quick-start

Add the Bank of Georgia Installments option at checkout. Customers pick a 3, 6, 12 or 24-month plan on BoG's hosted page; BoG carries the loan and you receive the full order amount at settlement. Most setups take about 30 minutes assuming your BoG installments contract is signed and active.

Before you begin

Three prerequisites — same shape as the BoG Card guide, with one critical difference: the installments product is a separate contract with BoG and uses different API credentials.

An active BoG Installments merchant contract. This is distinct from the BoG e-commerce (card) contract — make sure you signed the installments annex specifically. Approval typically takes 5-7 business days; ask your BoG relationship manager for the installments product line if you only have card.
Your BoG installments API credentials: a separate client_id / secret_key pair issued for the installments endpoint. They look the same as the card-payment credentials but they are not interchangeable — using card credentials with the installments plugin will fail at the connect step.
WordPress admin access and WooCommerce already installed and active. We recommend installing BoG Card first so customers who don't want installments still have a way to pay; the plugins coexist cleanly.

Buy a Bank of Georgia Installments license

Open the BoG Installments product page and click Buy license. License is ₾130 / year per domain with a 14-day no-questions refund window.

Install the plugin in WordPress

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Select the ZIP you downloaded, click Install Now, then Activate Plugin.

Once activated, you'll see a yellow admin notice asking for your license key. Click Enter license key— it goes to the plugin's settings screen at .

Activate your license

On the plugin settings screen, paste your license key into the License key field and click Save changes.

Plug in your BoG Installments credentials

The BoG credentials section accepts a separate client_id / secret_key pair, issued by BoG against the installmentsproduct line. Like BoG Card, you'll start in Sandbox mode and switch to production once a test order succeeds.

Field: Client ID: Installments client identifier. Looks like test_bog_inst_a4f2e1 in sandbox. Not the same as your BoG Card client_id even if the prefix looks similar.
Field: Secret Key: Installments secret BoG issued. Treat as a secret; never paste into chats or screenshots.
Mode: Sandbox / Production. Start in sandbox; the plan picker is identical to production but no real loan is opened.
Plans offered: Defaults to 3, 6, 12, 24months. BoG may restrict longer plans for some merchant categories — check with your relationship manager. Plans the customer can't use are hidden on BoG's side, not yours.

Place a test order

BoG's sandbox lets you walk the plan-picker flow without opening a real loan. Open your storefront in an incognito window, drop a test product into the cart with a price of at least ₾100(BoG's minimum threshold for installments), and proceed to checkout.

Switch to production credentials

Flip Mode to Production and replace the credentials with the production installments client_id / secret_key. Save — the green Connected badge should reappear.

What your customers see

The customer's checkout looks like any other gateway choice: a labelled radio with the bank logo and a one-line description. After they hit Place order, BoG takes over for plan selection and credit check — you don't handle any of that.

Refunding an installment order

Refund flow is initiated the same way as a card refund: WooCommerce → Orders → [order] → Refund. Behind the scenes the refund is more involved because BoG needs to unwind the customer's loan, so settlement timing differs from card.

Within 24 hours of approval (cooling-off): full refund only. The loan is cancelled cleanly with no interest billed to the customer; you're re-credited within one business day.
After 24 hours:partial refunds are supported but BoG may charge a small unwind fee (typically the first month's interest accrued). We surface the fee on the WooCommerce order note when BoG's callback returns it.
After the customer has paid 1+ installments: partial refund only — the principal already returned to you can't be reversed. Contact support if you need to refund a long-running installment plan; we'll walk through it.

Common errors and what they mean

License key doesn't cover this plugin: You pasted a BoG Card license into the BoG Installments plugin (or vice versa). Each plugin has its own license; check /licenses for which key is which.
BoG: 401 unauthorized: Wrong credentials. Most often this means you pasted your BoG cardcredentials into the installments plugin. Verify with BoG that you're using the installments-specific secret_key.
BoG: amount below threshold: Order total was below the installment minimum (typically ₾100). The customer should pick BoG Card instead, or you can hide the installments method on carts under the threshold via WooCommerce's payment-method visibility filters.
BoG: customer rejected: BoG declined the credit check. The order stays Pending; the customer can retry with another method. Don't treat this as a plugin error.

Next steps
