TBC card payments in WooCommerce: test payments and refunds

Test TBC card payments in the sandbox, hold and capture amounts, make full and partial refunds from WooCommerce, then go live without surprises.

Before you test

You need a TBC E-Commerce merchant account. When TBC approves your store, you find the Client ID and Client Secret at ecom.tbcpayments.ge → Website Management. The TBC developer Apikey comes bundled with the plugin, so there's nothing extra to register.

Install the plugin, activate your CodeOn licence (CodeOn → TBC Card → License), then open WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → TBC Bank — Card, enter the credentials and set the environment to Sandbox (test). In the sandbox the plugin talks to TBC's test servers, so no real money moves.

Run a test payment

  1. Open your shop in a private window, add a product to the cart and pick TBC — Card at checkout.
  2. You are taken to TBC's payment page. Pay with the test card details TBC gives you for the sandbox.
  3. Back in your shop, check the order: it should be marked paid (Processing), with an order note that shows TBC's payment ID.

If TBC's notification about a payment is lost, the plugin asks TBC for the result in the background, so a paid order doesn't get stuck as unpaid.

Hold first, charge later (pre-authorisation)

Turn on Pre-authorisation in the plugin settings if you want to check stock or confirm an order before you take the money. The amount is then only held on the customer's card.

  • In the order's TBC — Manual capture box you can charge the full amount or part of it, or release the hold.
  • When you charge part of it, the bank releases the rest, and the plugin records the difference as a refund in WooCommerce so your order totals match what was actually charged. No extra money moves.
  • Pre-authorisation works for card payments only, not for Apple Pay, Google Pay, Internet Bank or pay-later.

Refund an order

Refunds are made from the order itself: WooCommerce → Orders → the order → Refund.

  • Full refund: leave the amount at the order total. TBC returns the whole payment.
  • Partial refund: enter a smaller amount. TBC allows one partial refund per transaction per day, on the day of the transaction itself. If TBC declines a second one, the plugin tells you so; refund the rest the next business day or ask TBC.

After every refund the order note shows the amount and the total returned so far, so you always see where the order stands.

Go live

Switch the environment to Production, enter your production Client ID and Client Secret, and save. Then make one small real payment with your own card and refund it from the order: that proves the whole chain works before your customers use it.

Common problems

  • "No payment method available" on TBC's page. You turned on Apple Pay, Google Pay or Internet Bank in the plugin, but TBC hasn't activated that method on your merchant account yet. Ask TBC to activate it, or turn the option off.
  • A partial refund was declined. That's TBC's limit of one partial refund per transaction per day; see above.
  • The refund button is missing or fails at once. Check that your licence is active.

One licence, several ways to pay

The TBC Card licence (₾160 a year for one domain) also covers TBC's pay-later option and Apple Pay, Google Pay and Internet Bank on TBC's page, once TBC turns them on for your account. For installments, there's a separate TBC installments plugin.
